In 2023, there were 29,000 asylum seekers in Belgium. The lack of contact between new arrivals and Brussels residents can have negative consequences for both parties. For the newcomers, this can lead to integration difficulties, particularly in the areas of language, knowledge of the city and culture, employment, and social life. For Brussels residents, this can result in the persistence of prejudice and a lack of understanding of the realities of the newcomers.

SINGA creates spaces for meeting and sharing between new arrivals and Brussels residents. Its actions allow newcomers to practice the language, discover the city and culture, and build a social network. By increasingly connecting first-time arrivals and Brussels residents through their group activities, buddy programs, and solidarity house-sharing, SINGA promotes the integration of newcomers and the construction of a more inclusive society.
